Angkor Wat Day Trip -truly memorable

My cousin and I travelled to South East Asia during the Christmas period of 2014. We were staying in Bangkok for 3 days and thought we would embark on a day trip to Anghor Wat. We came across Sophoan's company on the internet and from the first contact, he sent several emails detailing how the trip would transpire. All of which happened exactly as planned. We were picked up from our hotel in a very comfortable vehicle with a/c. When at the Cambodian border, Sophoan and his staff guided us through each step of the border process. It went very smoothly and only took 15-20 mins.Then another comfortable vehicle took us to Siem Reap to freshen up and then on to Anghor Wat. When there, Sophoan was very informative on each landmark he took us to. He was also more than willing to take photographs at every opportunity, earmarking the best locations for photos. We were only at Anghor Wat for a day,but it was a truly memorable experience and I highly recommend it to everyone. In fact, I may well go again and spend longer there, hopefully with Sophan as my guide again.

Family trip in Cambodia

My family and I have always wanted to travel to Cambodia. With a four and six year old, this goal can be a bit intimidating. Last Christmas we took an extended trip to Thailand and wanted to take a side trip to Cambodia. This travel agency and Sophoan Rath, in particular, made it extremely easy for us. Not only is he very nice and speaks wonderful English, he took my family's needs into consideration. We had car seats and a personalized tour just for us. Overall, it was a GREAT experience and exactly what we were looking for! Thanks again!

Private Tour of Angkor

Mr. Sim gave my husband and I a two-day private tour of all the Angkor temples. What an amazing trip! We've been to 18 countries and nothing compares! Mr. Sim knew more about taking photos than us and took photos that actually show the incredible beauty Angkor has to show! He showed us roughly 15 temples in two days. He had an amazing in-depth knowledge of every temple we went to and was able to capture the beauty in all of his pictures he took for us! Go for it! It will be a memorable trip!!

I planned a two day trip to Angkor Wat, Cambodia with my family and my uncles family. Since i live in Bangkok i thought driving till border and then organizing someone to pick up from border and show Angkor Wat. I found the contact of Mr. Sophoan in internet and contacted him. From the very first email, every communication was clear, everything was organized perfectly, pick-up from Poipet border to drop-off everything was perfect and it was a memorable trip. First day Sophon guided us and the second day his friend Mr. Sim. Both of them are very knowledgeable. They know the history and cultural aspects and explain it very well. Being teachers earlier, before becoming tour guides their English is very good, they understood our interests and did show places very well. If you are interested in history, cultural & social aspects 2 days are not sufficient to watch Angkor Wat & Siem Reap. I would love to go back again and would certainly go with Mr. Sophon.

Couldn't have had a better Siem Reap experience with Sophoan!

I traveled to Siem Reap with five friends from Duke University during a SE Asia trip, and I could not have asked for a better experience than the one given to us by our guide, Sophoan Rath. Phoan is not only one of the kindest guides I have ever had the pleasure of traveling with, but he is also one of the most engaging, fun, and well informed. Our time in Angkor Wat was beautifully arranged, well timed, and constantly interesting and informative. My friends and I could not have been more grateful for our experience!

Fantastic personal service and knowledge of all the sights. I was Piced-up at my hotel in Bangkok and taken to the Boarder by a private car. The Boarder Crossing went according to plan and I was met at the other (Cambodian) side by Mr. Sophoan Rath. Mr. Rath made my next there days very memorable and interesting. I was extremely well looken after and Mr. Rath tried to accomodate all my needs. I would certainly recommend the above aforementioned services to all. Because of this experience, I will have memories for a lifetime!

Trip of a Lifetime!

My friend and I visited Cambodia last December 26, 2014. It was a day trip organized by Mr. Sophoan Rath from our hotel in Bangkok to Cambodia and a return trip to our hotel again. We communicated with Mr. Sophoan via email. I chose his services based on what I've read here in trip advisor. Mostly, it's all good experiences so I told to my friend why not give it a try. Although, we have a minor problem with our driver that morning who will take us to the border of Poipet and Cambodia but Mr. Sophoan compensated the delay that the driver gave to us. It was really a remarkable experience. Mr. Sophoan is so kind, very knowledgeable and walks fast!!. I guess, my friend and I loose some fats!!😁😁. It consist a lot of walking and climbing in the temples so a comfortable shoes is a must. It's really a great experience having been there. Before, we just read Angkor Wat in our history books and never imagined that one day we will be able to see it for real. Mr. Sophoan explained to us the historical and cultural aspects of the place. Being a teacher before, it's was really easy to communicate with him. He also knows which spots are great for photo op and mind you he's also great in taking pictures. At the end of the trip, he make sure that we will reach our hotel safe. I would highly recommend Mr. Sophoan and his services. You wil definitely have a memorable trip like us. It was indeed an experience of a lifetime.

Sincere and warm

It was rather unfortunate we could not have Sophoan as our tour guide despite early reservation in December. We travelled as a family of 4.

Nevertheless we were totally impressed he dropped by at the hotel to bid good bye, checked how we had enjoyed our tour, and gave us parting gifts. It was really unexpected and totally a pleasant surprised!

We were all touched by his warmth and sincerity! Even though we didnt get a chance to have him as our tour guide, he had arranged for us a very knowledgable guide.

Sophoan is a defintely person i would highly recommend if anyone plans of visiting siam reap! All the best Sophoan in the new year! It was indeed our pleasure meeting you!

Outstanding in every way

Mr Sophoan is an absolute Gentlemen. He is helpful, courteous and knowledgeable, and his customer service is excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent with him, and felt that he really brought the ancient and modern history of Cambodia alive. I recommend him without reservation.

Excellent experience

My son and I made a weekend trip from Bangkok to Siem Reap by car. The trip, including transfers, hotel and visits to Angkor Wat and the surrounding attractions, was organized by Sophoan. Everything went well and we truly enjoyed our trip. Sophoan is a true professional with a sincere, human, personal approach. I can certainly recommend his services for anyone interested in visiting Siem Reap and Angkor Wat.

Family tour to Angkor Wat

We had a really good 1 1/2 days with our guide Sophoan. Every arrangement we made via email with him before hand worked to perfection - from pickup at the airport and transport to the hotel to dropping off at the airport on the last day again.

As we only had 1 1/2 days so Sophan had planned a good itinerary to see all of the important sites. While a lot to take in on the same day, and I would recommend others to stretch it out a bit more if you can, it was very good. Sophan was good at explaining and definitely knows about the place.

Sophoan was patient even when some in our group started on an extensive shopping spree - believe me, in my family that can be quiet extensive (and with the "insistent sellers" not that easy to get out of - never accept the first price quoted!).

We strongly recommend that you ask Sophoan about taking you to the local marked. Ask him to bring you to the marked near his house. Its a really local market and while you most likely will not buy anything there (unless you know how to deal in gold as strangely enough there are gold shops in the middle of the marked only seen the like in Dubai) it is a real experience to walk around - and no "insistent sellers"!.

If you are a bit squirmish though you may want to skip the meat and fish section although it provides a good contrast to the almost sterile supermarket environment "western" travellers may be used to.

As a final note - if you have a bit of time ask Sophoan about his personal history and his family. Hearing about his youth and the experiences he had makes you appreciate the safety and comfort of growing up in a "modern" country and reminds you to take joy even in the little things and that it may be good to share your fortune with others instead of keeping it.

Siem Reap with child in tow

We were recommended this tour guide company by some mutual friends. I had been before however only for work. This time with my 4 year old and wife it was important that the choice of operator was both flexible and professional. Everything was setup within a matter of 2-3 emails which was the first appreciated part of the experience. Tour guide arrived on time, had excellent english skills and was very humble and accommodating with our 4 year old. We only went for one day although this is how we tour (see and tick the box!). We saw everything we wanted to see and had a great day. Its a great city to visit and surprisingly easy with children too. Highly recommended place to visit and this is definitely a worth while tour company to go with!
